The MT Pit

Renting music from The MT Pit is as close as you can come to hiring a Broadway orchestra. We tend to be modest about ourselves, but The MT Pit Orchestra deserves to be recognized for their expertise. Our musicians have played for some of the most prominent entertainers of our day. For instance:

Jay Lawrence, our percussion specialist was on the road with Lee Liberace when he was just 17 years old. He was the house percussionist for Harrah's at Lake Tahoe and played for many of the most prominent entertainers of our day, including Ann-Margaret and Frank Sinatra. He is a first class student of his art and has studied with many of the finest drummers and percussionists in the industry... check out his latino work on West Side Story and you begin to appreciate the depth of his experience.

The MT Pit Strings are one of our secret weapons. Three of our violin players are concert mistresses in local orchestras. One of them plays on a national broadcast weekly on the CBS radio network. Combined, they represent hundreds of years of experience. Truly they are heaven sent as we build our Broadway soundtrack library.

The Rhythm Section is a star-studded cast of musicians that have toured the world with prominent artists. Rob Honey, our bassist, wrote "Norma Jean Riley" for Diamond Rio... it was a number one hit and the "song of the year" in the country market. Guitarist, Michael Dowdle, is a solo artist and has been played on New Age radio stations world wide. Guitarist, Rich Dixon was on the original Donny and Marie Osmond show back in the eighties and toured with the Osmonds for a couple of decades. Our Drummer, Todd Sorensen (Owner of "Drums On Demand") is a human rhythm machine. He arranges, produces and has worked on many recognized CDs as well as motion pictures and motion picture trailers.

Daron Bradford is a freak of nature. If he can find something to blow through, there will be music. He is proficient on all woodwinds and has a very large collection of exotic instruments that he is equally adept at. You can get a sense for his range of talents on the soundtrack of  "Aida". Our cast of woodwind players are amazing and we feel very blessed to have them on board.

The MT Pit has been adding a new show about every four to six weeks. We have been on a very rigorous schedule that would allow us to put a catalog in place that would contain some of the finest Broadway shows available. Our Broadway Minus track collection will be nearly 30 shows deep by the end of 2007. It is hard to describe the intense work that goes into producing a single Broadway production. Hundreds of musician hours, studio hours and preproduction hours are spent bringing you these soundtracks in glorious "high definition" audio. They bring a very professional like quality to schools and community theaters that otherwise would not be able to rise to this standard. We would invite you to go to our testimonials page and see what others are saying about our Broadway minus track library.
